The GP Referral Process
Have you been referred by the GP?
If you were referred by your GP up until 27th September, you will be on our waiting list.
Over the last few years, we have been able to offer a specialised mental health and wellbeing service to 7-17 year olds via your GP Practice (Hastings and St Leonards)
Due to funding issues – we unfortunately had to stop accepting referrals from GP practices on 27th September 2024. We are working hard to secure further funding to continue supporting our community and our young people.

What happens next?
We are a small team working hard to get to your referral – the current waiting time for our initial phone call is around 12 weeks.
If you are concerned you have been waiting too long, please email us at eggtooth.referrals@nhs.net and we will be able to give you a more specific timeframe.
The first person that you speak to will be one of our referral coordinators. They will be calling you to go through our ‘further questions’. These questions help us gather the information we need to offer appropriate support.

Getting started
Your referral coordinator will then work with the rest of the team to allocate a practitioner or therapist using the information that we have gathered during our initial call.
The practitioner or therapist will then contact you by phone or email to arrange dates and times for the sessions.
The Eggtooth administration team will then be emailing over your confirmation paperwork which you will need to read and respond to.
At this stage you will have the start date, location and everything you need to know about your young person's journey with Eggtooth.
Your referral coordinator will be available for any queries or concerns for the duration of your young person’s time with us.
